Panic! *ripe* Coaster set 2022

Feeling overwhelmed and stuck at the time of COVID, the illustrations displayed different levels of stress and anxiety. You only have one body but there are so many things to do and think about everyday.

I hope to encourage people to take a break, have a cup of tea, while thinking (or not) when they look at these coasters.

merry? happy? Postcard set2021

Merry? Christmas? Happy? New? Year? Happy 5th Away-from-home New Year! It was during the COVID times, so this turned out to be a nice self-soothing project. The inspiration came from old Vietnamese textbook drawings and Vietnamese national graphic posters.

Steve’s SocksZine2021

A journey of Steve finding his favourite pair of socks! We followed the theme of socks–which is also the Inquiry by Design class exercise prompt given to the students whose works are showcased inside.

Special thanks to Joanne Pang, our ex-teacher, for allowing us to create a silly and quirky catalog!

Tropical Structure Zine2021

Tropical Structure is an illustration zine exploring how nature exists in modern times. This small zine hopes to highlight the importance of nature, and act as a reminder for the need to take time to pause & self-reflect on our own relationships with the environment.Published by ripe

LASALLE SODC Wall
  •  Mural
2021

The mural is an initiative from School of Design Communication LASALLE, as a way to revitalized the newly built class spaces, following COVID restrictions. The concept is kept close to graphic design theme, with quirky and realistic depictions of a designer’s mind.

Special thanks to our ex-teacher Nadine Ouellet, Head of Design Communication LASALLE, for this fun and meaningful project! It’s nice to be able to give back to the place that have helped me grow tremendously as a creative <3

The Grumpy Baker Branding2020

THE GRUMPY BAKER is a Danang (Vietnam) based bar/bistro that serves brunch in the morning and transforms into a chill and cozy bar at night. Established in 2020 by a cross-cultural group of friends, the quad blends culinary aspects of Vietnamese and Western culture.

Located in one of the most tourist-attractive cities of Vietnam, it is important to make THE GRUMPY BAKER visual identity stand out hence the combination of imperfect illustrations and typeface combination.

Tu NhienWebsite2020

Humans and plants have a complex relationship extending far back into our joint evolutionary history. This legacy can be seen today as plants provide nutrition, fiber, energy and so much more for people and animals across the globe. We do not just get nourishment from plants, they are central to our societies.

Branding, collateral, website design for an online archive by a plant collective called tu nhien/naturally. With the aim of creating a contemporary and simple identity for the website, a serif logo is introduced and incorporated with neutral colors (black, grey, white). Different topics are presented with a pop of tertiary colors for an interesting and youthful approach.

This is a self-initiated project based on my interest for plant and nature 🌳 All pictures, words and articles belong to its respective owners

Change for Trans
*D&AD Brief: Monotype*
Campaign2019

Change For Trans encourages acceptance towards the transgender community. In Singapore and other parts of the world, their acceptance is varied and still a work-in-progress.

The Intimate Trans-formation Point
This campaign is made to unite people across the gender spectrum to strengthen acceptance towards the transgender community in and beyond clothing stores. It is an attempt to create a trans-friendly environment, giving them the recognition of gender fluidity and validate the freedom for transgender individuals to express their inner selves. There has been a lot of advancement in terms of media representation in the West, but it is still a work-in-progress in Singapore. Those traditional gender expectations can turn shopping into an uncomfortable and strained experience for transgender individuals.

Change For Trans aims to solve this by garnering support from two distinctive levels–from a retail level and personal level, and communicating this expressive spirit of the community through a dynamic typographic language.
